If anyone has had experience with the Aspen and the comparable Garmin system, which do you prefer?
I am thinking the Aspen Evo is better for retrofitting older instrument panels. Very intrigued with the new SVT. The database is synced to the GPS nav correct?
@forces077 the most basic aspen is a few grand more but thats not including install. the aspen DOES support traffic and wx as long as you have a traffic or the aspens own weather sensor installed.
im unsure what i should get, the garmin 696 or this, what i dont understand is how the aspen is $2000 more for the most basic version and from this video does not support such wx or traffic info, is this because the garmin can only be used to aid navigation and not act as a PFD? thanks
can’t wait to put this in my Airwolf!
I was talking mour about objects in the cockpit hitting in, not really sunlight.
Most things that are LCD screens are very fragile and only takes a small bump ot puncture and the whole screen is useless.
But, Im not bashing this product, I dont know too much about it really.
Nope. Rolls, loops, spins, ur covered.
They have. I flew my plane yesterday afternoon with it, with sunlight blaring right onto it. You could still see it completely clearly.

I have always wondered about how resilient the screen is on that.
Since its LCD, if anything hits it, your in trouble.
But perhaps they already solved that problem.
Any issues with this type of unit while flying aerobatics??
Plays well with most any navigational inputs like KLN-90 and even older collins or narco nav inputs. Im on my 5th install.
Nice piece of kit, pity about the cheap, amateur video recording!
excellent system to control the air sailing, is good to take advantage the I finish in tegnologia.
